Privacy Policy

Last updated 31 October 2026.

Who we are

Posh Invite ("we", "us") lets couples build and publish a wedding website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it. It is written to be GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California) aware.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email, and (unless you use Google/Facebook sign-in) a hashed password.
  • Your wedding content: the text, photos, dates, and event details you add.
  • Guest RSVPs: minimal data your guests submit โ€” name, attendance, and optionally contact, party size, dietary notes. This is controlled by you, the couple.
  • Payment: processed by our card-payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical: we don't use advertising cookies or Google Analytics. We count visits to our own pages (not couples' sites) with a privacy-focused visit counter from our website-network provider, which states it doesn't collect visitors' personal data.

How long we keep it

  • Published sites stay live for one year from publishing, then expire.
  • Guest RSVP data is automatically deleted after your wedding date โ€” we keep guest personal data no longer than needed.
  • Your guest list (if you use personal invitations โ€” guest names and how many each may bring, no contact details) is deleted after your wedding date too.
  • You can delete your account and its data at any time โ€” here's how.
  • Copyright notices: if someone reports content (see Copyright & reporting), we use their details only to handle that claim โ€” including sharing the notice with the couple concerned โ€” and delete them when no longer needed.

Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to run Posh Invite:

  • Card-payment processing: your payment details.
  • Cloud hosting and database: your account and wedding data.
  • Photo storage and content delivery: your photos and site traffic.
  • Bot protection on RSVP forms: signals from the guest's browser.
  • Email delivery: your email address and the emails we send you.
  • Error monitoring: technical details when something breaks.
  • Sign-in with Google or Facebook, if you choose it: your name and email from them.
  • Map and hotel-booking widgets, only if the couple adds them: the visitor's browser connects to them.
  • Web fonts: the visitor's browser requests them.

Each acts on our instructions. We do not sell your data. Ask us for the current list of providers.

Where your data is stored

Our servers and most providers are in the United States. When data leaves the EU, UK or your country, we rely on the providers' standard safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and (where applicable) object to or restrict processing. To exercise any right, email us at the address below. Guests wishing to remove their RSVP should contact the couple who owns the site. You can also complain to your local data-protection regulator.

Delete your account and data

  1. Email privacy@poshinvite.com from the email address on your Posh Invite account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you write from another address, we'll reply to your account's email to confirm it's you.
  2. Within 30 days we delete your account and everything in it: your wedding sites (they go offline), photos, guest RSVPs, and any custom domain we manage for you. We email you when it's done.
  3. We keep payment records (amount, date, what was bought) without your name or email, for accounting. Our payment provider keeps its own records of the transaction as the law requires.
  4. Signed in with Facebook or Google? You can also remove Posh Invite there. Facebook: Settings & privacy โ†’ Settings โ†’ Apps and websites โ†’ Posh Invite โ†’ Remove. Google: your Google Account โ†’ Security โ†’ Third-party apps & services โ†’ Posh Invite โ†’ Delete all connections.
