Wedding Website Wording Examples (Copy, Paste and Make Them Yours)
Updated 31 October 2026 · Posh Invite
Staring at a blank "Our Story" box is the hardest part of making a wedding website. This guide gives you ready-to-use wording for each section, from a short welcome to polite FAQ answers. Pick the line that sounds most like you, swap in your own details, and you're done.
Tip: read your text out loud. If it sounds like something you'd say to a friend, it's right.
1. Welcome message (the top of your site)
This is the first thing guests see, so keep it short: one or two sentences.
Warm and simple
We're getting married! We can't wait to celebrate with the people we love most. Everything you need to know is right here.
Formal
Together with their families, Emma and James joyfully invite you to celebrate their marriage.
Relaxed
We said yes, now it's your turn. Scroll down for the details, and don't forget to RSVP.
Short announcement line (for a banner at the top):
RSVPs close on 1 August. Please reply by then so we can finalise numbers. We've added a hotel discount code. See Travel below.
2. Our story
Guests love this section, but it doesn't need to be long. Three to five sentences is plenty: how you met, a favourite moment, and the proposal.
Short and sweet
We met at a friend's birthday dinner in 2019 and talked until the restaurant closed. Five years, two apartments and one very spoiled dog later, James proposed on a rainy beach walk, and Emma said yes before he finished the question.
Funny
Emma thought James was the waiter. James was too polite to correct her for twenty minutes. The rest is history.
Long-distance
We spent our first two years in different time zones, living on video calls and airport hugs. Now we're finally in the same place, and we'd love you there when we make it official.
If you'd rather keep it private
We'll save the long story for the reception. Come find us and we'll tell you over a drink.
3. Event details
Give each event its own clear block: name, time, venue and address, then one line about what to expect.

5. FAQs (questions and answers)
FAQs save you dozens of messages. Here are the questions guests ask most, with friendly answers you can adapt.
Can I bring a plus-one?
We'd love to celebrate with everyone, but our venue is small. Please RSVP only for the guests named on your invitation.
Are children welcome?
We love your little ones, but our wedding is adults-only. We hope this gives you a night off! or Children are very welcome. Let us know their ages in your RSVP.
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire. The ceremony is outdoors on grass, so you may want to skip stiletto heels.
Is there parking?
Yes, free parking is available at the venue.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We're having an unplugged ceremony. Please keep phones away so everyone can be present. Our photographer will share photos afterwards.
What if I can't attend in person?
We'll be streaming the ceremony live. Use the button below to watch from anywhere.
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please reply by 1 August so we can confirm numbers with our venue.
6. RSVP section
Keep it clear and kind: one line with the deadline, and one about dietary needs.
Please let us know if you can join us by 1 August. Tell us about any dietary needs and we'll make sure you're looked after.
We've reserved a seat for you and would love to know if you can make it. Kindly reply by 1 August.
